IGF-1 DES — truncated IGF-1 research peptide missing first 3 N-terminal amino acids. Studied for site-specific activity.

IGF-1 DES (Des(1-3) IGF-1) is a truncated IGF-1 research peptide missing the first 3 N-terminal amino acids. This truncation gives it dramatically different binding properties than full-length IGF-1.
DES has 10x less affinity for IGFBPs compared to IGF-1, leading to higher free fraction. It is also studied for shorter local activity profiles.
Used in: localized IGF research, IGFBP independence studies, comparative IGF analog research.
